What tourist attractions are close to easyHotel Edinburgh?

Edinburgh is a city steeped in history, centred around a castle that cannot be missed. Sitting atop Castle Rock since the Iron Age, Edinburgh Castle is one of Europe’s oldest fortifications and only a 15-minute walk from your hotel. The Royal Mile and Edinburgh’s Old Town are located on the other side of Princes Street Gardens, also just 15 minutes from your room, or explore nearby Holyrood Palace, the royal residence in Scotland for the British Monarch.

A city popular for festivals, you can often find an event to entertain you from The Edinburgh Fringe and Military Tattoo in August to ringing in the new year with Hogmanay in December. If you’re looking for somewhere a little quieter to experience the offerings of the Scottish capital, catch the 23 or 27 bus to The Royal Botanic Gardens or climb Arthur’s Seat, a now extinct volcano, to take in the view over the city. No visit to Edinburgh is complete without a stopover at the The Scottish Whiskey Experience where you can take tours and participate in masterclasses to learn more about Scotland’s best-known drink.

Can you tell me about any restaurants nearby?

Edinburgh has plenty on offer within walking distance whether you’re a foodie or simply looking for a quick bite. Start your day right with a wholesome all-day breakfast at Urban Angel from a range of sweet and savoury selections or for something lighter and your morning caffeine hit, stop by Cairngorm Coffee. If traditional British fare is on your radar, The Queens Arms is a gastropub serving a seasonal menu and a selection of malt whiskies, or why not try Chaophraya Thai restaurant for rooftop dining? You can’t visit Edinburgh without a stop at The Elephant House cafe where J. K. Rowling wrote the first drafts for Harry Potter.
